Summer colds when you are in the middle of a rehearsal suck lots.
Summer colds when you are in the middle of rehearsal where your character's vocal sound is far from your natural speaking voice suck even more!
I've gone through the fever dreams - seeing people turning into cats that multiply when they get caught in the fridge; floating over a giant popcorn popper, trying to catch the kernels in a bag so I could sell them; hanging out on top of the Statue of Liberty. I went through the pressure headaches and the absent-mindedness - I left my script at rehearsal twice & that first rehearsal 'off-book' was a giant step backwards for my memory! And now I'm at the "I feel great!" stage - until I actually try to speak or move too much. This coincides with the "I must clean everything!" phase because I don't want to continue living with those "sick germs" that were in my sheets and on my pillow cases and on any dishes anywhere in the house!
So today I'm attacking my to-do list with renewed vim & vigor. And taking a break about every 45 minutes or so when I realize I'm not quite back to 100%. And I can't get "Dream Police" out of my head, though I've replaced the lyrics with "Clean Machine" and other fever-induced ramblings.
Lines, prepare to be crammed into my brain.
Meeting prep, you will be DONE!
...right after I take a quick nap.
