Today, though, after I crashed at 3:00pm and took a 20 minute power nap, I came back to work still feeling groggy. I made an Arbonne energy drink (trying everything here!) and drank it. 30 minutes later...not much change (remember, I have no patience).
So I just put on the playlist I made for my niece for her birthday and within 4 songs (approx 15 minutes) I'm already feeling peppier, happier, and ready to finish my work day & hit the gym (HARD) before going to see a play.
I've heard rumors that I can create an iTunes list for her, but I'm skeptical. Also, my plan to send her a gift card along with a list of specific songs in a sort of do-it-yourself gift seems rude.
I wanted encouraging, up-tempo, music she could relate to, but also some classic 'feel good' songs that she won't ever hear on the radio. Plus, I felt it was my duty as the cool aunt to introduce her to They Might Be Giants, now that Animaniacs is no longer mainstream.
One of these days I'll get together with her Mom and we'll figure out how to get the songs I want for her onto her iPodTouch, but until then, I'm enjoying the heck out of the songs I put together for her.
