Each time I think about what I want to write (besides the generics above), a little voice in me says, "But what about..." and I'm flooded with positive memories.
Theatre got me out of my small home town when I was 21. It took me to London (LONDON!!!) and introduced me to amazing people, feelings, histories, experiences.
Theatre took me to Florida where I saw dolphins when I went for walks with my awesome room mate. That particular year was a big challenge, but boy did I learn a LOT about who I am, what I want, and what I would no longer settle for.
Theatre took me to New Hampshire in the summer and I still have fabulous memories of that time.
Theatre brought me to Chicago where I've made my life, my home, MY PLACE in the world (so far anyway!).
Theatre broke me out of a day job that was stealing my soul and took me to Door County where I got to wear fun costumes (see photo of my amazing wig below!) and frolic in the woods by Bailey's Harbor for a summer.
Do I have some forgiveness work to do around the industry of theatre/art/performance? Absolutely!
But for the art, the work, the experiences, the people...nothing here but gratitude!
